The Chronological Study Bible

I have read all of the old testament, but not all of the new testament.  My favorite bible is The Spirit Filled Bible, but I also use several other resources that I use.  I recently started reading The Chronological Study Bible and I am really enjoying it.  This Bible helps put the events of the bible into historical context with what was happening in other cultures at the same time.  An example is Noah and the Flood, this Bible talks about the flood and relates to the history of other societies that also speak about a flood at the same time.  So, in essence you have 3 different historical perspectives speaking of the same flood.  Also, some of the books in this Bible have been moved to put them in chronological order.  It's a little different, but enlightening.

I am going to read the whole Bible from the  beginning to the end.  I would like to have you read The Chronological Study Bible along with me this year.  I would love to get some sort of discussion going, and I am open to suggestions from all of you as to how that can happen.  Let me know what all of you think, and if you are interested at all.  If you are uncomfortable leaving messages in this post, then please feel free to email me at debrabolocofsky@gmail.com.

I hope all of you have a Blessed 2014!!!

Here are a few verses for this week.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jer 29:11

And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
Mat 10:1

And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

  1. Yes! Something about the Word read in chronological order is very powerful and just reveals more of how awesome God is in His planning of everything. Ever! The details just come together so beautifully. Blessings to you in your readings this year! :)
