My son requested a Natural Aftershave to go with his Pre-Shave Oil and Natural Shave Soap.
So I have had to do some research. I read the ingredients on the bottle of his aftershave, and it was mostly chemicals, not a good thing. So I decided to bring out my arsenal of oils and essential oils, to make Vince a new aftershave.
Natural Aftershave
Ingredients:
1/4 cup Water
1/2 cup Witch Hazel Astringent
1/2 tsp Glycerin
1/2 tsp Aloe Vera
1/2 tsp Jojoba oil
1/2 tsp Grapeseed oil
30 Lemon Essential Oil
20 drops Clove Essential Oil
8 drops Anise Essential Oil
6 Bergamot Essential Oil
5 Sandalwood
10 Tea Tree Oil
Put all ingredients in a dark bottle and shake well. Use as you would normally use your aftershave.
Enjoy!!!

Will have to make some of this for my husband to try. Thanks for linking to Craftastic Monday at Sew Can Do:)
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl,
DeleteThank you for having the party. Hope you like the recipe.
Debi
I like this idea, my husband has Very sensitive skin and do to the nature of his job he has to shave everyday. My only question which oils are just for fragrance and which are to aid in the aftershave? (he is opposed to "smelly stuff")
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteThank you so much for your question. I am really happy to answer it. You will need to leave in the tee tree oil and the lemon essential oil. They are both antibacterials and will help prevent infections from nicks from shaving. The others are really just for scent. You can up the lemon essential oil if he does not like the smell of the tee tree oil, but tee tree oil is really important.
Have a great day.
Debi
Just made this for a friend's birthday and had enough to put in a smaller spray bottle for my son. Looking at all the essential oils I thought I wouldn't like it, but it smells great!
ReplyDeleteHi bobi,
DeleteI am happy that you ended up liking the smell of the aftershave. I hope that your friend and son like it also. Thanks for visiting.
