BeJeweled Purse


Today I am going to show you howto Make a Bejeweled Purse.  

I was thrift shopping last August with my friend Kerry, she is my thrifting buddy, and we found this cute little evening bag. It was really plain though, and if you know my friend Kerry, you know that she likes lots of bling.  Since the purse was only $2.00 We thought it would be a fun project to do for all of you.


Items you need to Bejeweled Purse:

Aleene's Jewel It Embellishing glue
Rhinestones ( all shapes, sizes, and colors )
An Evening Bag
Painter's Pyramids (optional)
Paper plate ( for glue )
Paint brush

1.  I set the purse on painters pyramids to set the purse on, because this evening bag is rounded, so I didn't have any other way to secure it.

2. I measured the width and length of one side, in order to get an idea of how to lay out my rhinestones.
3.  I then laid out the rhinestones in the pattern that I wanted to put them on the purse.  


4. Next, I put the glue on the paper plate.

5. I used the paintbrush to put the glue on the back of the rhinestones.  

6. Then I placed the rhinestones on the purse.  

7.  At times the rhinestones needed to be closer together, so I would dab the glue on the purse also, and then put the rhinestone in place.

8.  I filled in a lot of little rhinestones between the bigger ones.


9.  TIP:  If you have tweezers or something smaller to place the rhinestones, that is easier at times.  Sometimes it was hard getting my fingers into the smaller spaces.

10.  I did the first side of the bag.

11.  I waited 24 hours for the rhinestones to dry and then did the other side.

I love the way this bag came out. I am hoping that Kerry likes it also.  She is so fun, and as we say this evening bag is "VERY KERRY".

Faith Acts 6:8



Today, I want to give you a verse on Faith Acts 6:8.  

 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
Acts 6:8

Faith and Power go together in this verse.  When you are filled with the Holy spirit, you can do anything, as Stephen did.  God still performs miracles through us today.  

Isn't he amazing?

Fringed Burlap Table Runner


Thursday I made a great Fringed Burlap Table Runner for my dining room.  I wanted a new table runner, and I still have a ton of burlap laying around from reupholstering my couch, so I decided that it would be perfect for a runner.  I still have lots of trims from my slipcover days, and I found a perfect fringe to add to the ends.  This was an amazingly easy project.  It only took about an hour to make.  

 So here it is, a tutorial on How to Make A Fringed Burlap Table Runner.



1.  Measure the length of your table.  Mine was 79 inches.

 2.  I added 1 1/2 inches to the length so that I would have a little room to work with at the ends.

 3. Next, I measured the length of my burlap to 80 1/2 inches.

 4. Then decide how wide you would like your runner to be.  I decided to make it 14 inches wide.


5. I then pulled a thread of burlap so that I would be able to cut the burlap without a mess.  Refer to my Burlap and Lace Post for directions.

6. Once the thread is pulled you have a clean open line to cut the burlap.  Cut the burlap.

 7.  Next cut the burlap on the open line.

8.  I then pulled about 4 threads on that cut side, so that you have the same amount of fringed burlap on each side.

 9.  Next, I sewed a zigzag stitch around the edges of the burlap.  I stitched close to the last thread at the edge of the burlap.

10. I next measured 2  15 inch pieces of fringe, so that I could fold 1/2 inch under at each end.

 11.  I pinned the fringe to each end of the burlap.

12. Sew the fringe onto the burlap, and Tah Dah, you are done.

13.  I just ironed it and put it on the table.
