Moscato Press Friday's Happy Hour

We have a Moscato Press for Friday's Happy Hour.  It is really delicious, and it tastes kind of like a Moscato Cooler.  It is a pretty simple drink, and looks so pretty.  It kind of seems like a warm weather drink, and unfortunately I am looking out at a blizzard in my back yard.  Oh well, it will be spring and summer soon enough.  So this drink can help us feel like we are soaking up the sun, while we drink it.  I got the recipe from the little pamplet attached to the Skyy Moscato Grape Vodka bottle.

Moscato Press

Ingredients:

2 oz Skyy Infusions Moscato Grape Vodka
5 oz Sprite or Diet Sprite
Squeeze of lemon juice

Direction:

Mix all ingredients and pour over ice.

Garnish with grapes if you like.

Serves 1 drink

I hope you like this.  I made it with Diet Sprite, since I try not to have too much sugar.  I always love hearing from you.

Have a great weekend.

Peanut Butter Cups for Valentine's Day (New Recipe)

This recipe for Peanut Butter Cups is amazing.  They taste just like Reese's!  I was really surprised.  I found the recipe at Menu Musings of a Modern American Mom.  The recipe calls for graham cracker crumbs and I thought that was a little weird, but they turned out great.  I did adjust her recipe a little, so that they wouldn't be quite so soft as the original recipe.  I was also surprised at how easy they were to make, and I already had all of the ingredients, which was even better.

Peanut Butter Cups

Ingredients:

Filling

3/4 cup creamy honey roasted peanut butter. (I used Skippy, but use your favorite brand)
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
2 TB graham cracker crumbs

Chocolate Shell

1 3/4 cups milk chocolate chips
2 TB shortening
1 TB peanut butter

Directions:

1.  Put paper cupcake liners in 12 regular sized muffin cups.

2.  Next, mix honey roasted peanut butter, powdered sugar, melted butter, and graham cracker crumbs together and set aside.

3.  Put chocolate chips, shortening, and peanut butter, in a pan on the stove and melt over medium heat.

4.  Once melted put chocolate in muffin cups and spread the chocolate 1/2 to 1/3 up the sides of each muffin cup.

5.  Put the muffin pan in the freezer for 7 minutes.

6.  Next, spoon peanut butter into each muffin cup, keeping it away from the sides of the muffin cup.

6.  Then you will spoon the chocolate over the top of the peanut butter in each muffin cup, making sure that it meets the chocolate in the bottom of the cup.

I put the muffin pan in the freezer again to harden everything up.  I left it for about an hour.
Makes 12 peanut butter cups.

I must say, this recipe is truly amazing.  They taste like you are eating Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, except they are bigger, which is a good thing in my book.  I hope you like the recipe.  I always love hearing from you.

Have a great week.

Be Still and Listen

Today I felt that I needed to share something that I posted on another blog,  Be Still and Know from The Swing Set Back and Forth from Kitty.  This post was about listening to God, listening for God.  Great post!!  You should read it.

I'm sorry that I missed the Bible Study this week,  it's taking longer then I thought it would,  I should have the first one done by next Monday.  I felt that I was supposed to share this with all of you.  You see, until several years ago, I didn't know you could have a personal relationship with God.  I thought people were weird who said they heard him.  I'm sure many people will read this and say, "Oh, that Debi, she's on a role today", but I definitely felt led to share this with all of you.

Psa 46:10  Be still, and know that I am God

Below is my response to Kitty's post.

Beautiful. I love that verse. I so often find that I hear God when I am quiet. Sometimes he has to hit me over the head to make me listen, but most often it is at quiet, unexpected moments.

The first time I ever heard God was strange. I was in a store and a woman came into the aisle that I was on. (I was a baby Christian) All of the sudden I heard God tell me she was going to steel the piece of candy that she had picked up. I didn’t know what to do, so I just started praying for her. Super hard!!! I watched her leave the store with the candy in her hand, and I kept praying for this woman. About a minute later she walked back into the store and put the piece of candy on the counter, and then left the store. At that point I knew that God meant for me to pray for people. Sometimes in the beginning it was weird, because I would just get that feeling that God wanted me to do something, Sometimes I was praying for things that I didn’t even understand. There was a kid in the library with a sweatshirt with a skull on it, boy was I praying for that child. I still don’t know why, but I for some reason I felt fear. I shouldn’t have, but it was hard to understand in the beginning. Now I don’t get scared. Sometimes I am just in my car driving and I know I am supposed to be praying for someone. I will check the time and talk to that person later, only to find out that the person was calling for intercessors at that moment in time.

I love to hear God’s voice. Sometimes, still and small, sometimes loud because I am not being quiet and he wants my attention.

Have a blessed week.

Chocolate Malt Ball Lips for Valentine's Day

My sweet husband loves Whoppers and Chocolate, so I decided to mix the two and make him these Chocolate Whopper Lips for Valentines Day.  I had him do a taste test after I made them, and he said they were delicious.  So if you or someone in your family is a malted milk ball fan, these may be a wonderful treat for Valentine's Day.  They are also pretty easy to make, which is an added side bonus.

Chocolate Whopper Lips

Ingredients:

1 11.5 oz package Guittard Chocolate Chips
1 cup malted milk balls (crushed in your food processor.)
Wilton Silicone Lip mold

Directions:

1.  Put the chocolate chips in a bowl and put in the microwave for 30 seconds.

2.  Pull out and stir the chocolate.

3.  Repeat steps 1 and 2 until chocolate in melted and smooth.  It takes me about 1 1/2 minutes.

4.  Stir whoppers into the chocolate.

5.  Once the whoppers and chocolate are combined, pour it into the molds.

6.  Let cool until the chocolate hardens. Probably several hours.  You can also let it cool in the freezer.

7.  Once the chocolate has hardened you can pop them out of the molds.

8.  I then put melted chocolate on top of the chocolate lips to make them look a little prettier.

(Note - Do not follow the directions to grease the silicone mold, it will leave marks on the chocolate.)

I put these in paper cupcake liners and in a red box to give for Valentines Day.  I thought they came out really cute.  I always love hearing from you.

Enjoy,
Debi
