Mourning for The Families of Newtown

I am saddened to be writing about something like this again.

I am sending my prayers out to the families of the people lost in Newtown, Connecticut.  Their tragedy is a tragedy for the whole country.

I will not post again until Monday out of respect for those families. I just wish there was more that I could do.

My love and prayers to everyone affected by this.

Russian Tea with Brandy for Fridays Happy Hour

Russian Tea with Brandy is another winter favorite of mine.  This is a great drink when it is cold outside.  Cuddle up with a good book and a cup of Russian Tea with Brandy.  It warms me up from the inside out.

I posted the recipe for Instant Russian Tea last week.

Russian Tea with Brandy

Ingredients:

2 tsp Instant Russian Tea
6 oz boiling water
1 1/2 ounce Christian Brother's Brandy

Directions:

Put 2 tsp Instant Russian Tea into a mug.

Add boiling water.

Stir.

Add Brandy.

Stir and serve.

I hope you enjoy my Russian Tea with Brandy as much as I do.  I always love hearing from you.

Have a great week.

Merry Christmas and Enjoy!!!

Rhinestone Jars

I made these cute Rhinestone Jars before Thanksgiving, and I loved the way they came out.   I have lots of jars, and wanted to do something fun with them.  I wanted them sparkly and blingy and they are certainly that.

I used them for Votive candles on the table, but you could do anything with them.   Put flowers in them for vases, use them in a bathroom for makeup brushes and pencils,  or use them in an office to hold more rhinestones, pencils, buttons, paint brushes.  I think they are so versatile and fun.  Add a little sparkle to your rooms.    Keep reading to learn how to make these cute Rhinestone Jars.

Rhinestone Jars

Supplies:

Rhinestones
Allene's Jewel It Glue
Jars
Paper Towels

Directions:

Get all of your supplies together.

Lay a paper towel on the table.

Put the rhinestones in the pattern that want to put them on your jar, onto the paper towel.

I put dots of glue on the jar and then added the rhinestones.  While the glue is still wet, you can position the rhinestones by sliding them a little on the jar.  (Note - use just a small amount of glue, otherwise they will slide down.)

Once you have finished adding the rhinestones to the jar, set it aside to dry.

I did three different jars in different shapes and sizes.

These Rhinestone Jars were so easy to make.  I hope that you like them.

I always love hearing from you.
Merry christmas.
