Laura Jean Dolls on Etsy

Today, I would love to introduce to my, Aunt Laura, from Laura Jean Dolls on Etsy.  She is one of the most creative people that I know.  She was a home ec teacher and high school counselor and is extremely talented.  Aunt Laura does everything from cooking, to decorating, and entertaining.  The list goes on and on.

She makes fabulous Art Dolls and has been written up in Art Doll Magazine several times.   She also makes Miniatures which are truly one of a kind, amazing works of art.

Here are just a few of the dolls and miniatures available at Laura Jean Dolls.

This Christmas Shop is one of her newest ones and it is so cute.

This is actually one of my favorites, since it reminds me of my great grandma.  My aunt gives a little history of my grandma in the description of the room box.  There is one she made of my grandma's living room from a picture and it was and exact replica of that room.

I hope that you'll head over and take a look at all of her fabulous dolls and miniatures.  She also does special orders.  It's a little late this Christmas, but maybe for another occasion.

Have a great weekend.

Berry Banana Martini For Friday's Happy Hour and Favorite Blog Links

Today I give you a Berry Banana Martini for Friday's Happy Hour. This was delicious.  I made my wonderful H. his Cucumber Martini, and as I have told you in the past I love berry drinks, so I made myself this tasty little drink, and boy was it good.  I hope all of you like it as much as I did.

After the Berry Banana Martini Recipe I will present this weeks Favorite Blog Links of the week.  So stay and read awhile.

Berry Banana Martini

Ingredients:

2 oz vodka
1 oz blackberry liqueur
1/2 oz banana liqueur
1/2 oz simple syrup
3 blackberries
3 raspberries

Directions:

Muddle 2 rasberries and 2 blackberries (basically this means crushing them to release the juices.)

Then add the vodka, blackberry liqueur, banana liqueur, simple syrup, blackberries, and rasberries to a martini shaker or a large container to mix your ingredients.

Then add ice and mix well.  I like my martini's well chilled, so I let it sit for a few minutes.

Then pour into a martini glass and garnish with a rasberry and a blackberry.

Serves 1

Cucumber Basil Martini for Friday's Happy Hour and Favorite Blog Links for the Week

Today we are having Cucumber Basil Martini's for Friday's Happy Hour.  This is one of my husband's favorite drinks.  We had them on a Royal Caribbean Cruise 2 years ago, and they were so good.  I am really a fruity kind of drink girl, but I will tell you that this was an amazing martini.  So we have been on a quest for the last two years to make him a great Cucumber Martini.  I think that we finally got really close last weekend.

Before we get to the recipe, we have one of my favorite times of the week.  Favorite Blog Links of the week.  I love Fridays, because I get to feature these great bloggers, and it is always a difficult choice, because there are so many talented people out there.  So here they are, take a look at their blogs and follow them if you like what you see.

New To Blogging Series - How to Blog Party from Serenity Now.

Now, here is the recipe for a Cucumber Basil Martini for Friday's Happy Hour.

Cucumber Basil Martini

Ingredients:

4 oz vodka
2 oz cucumber liqueur
2 oz simple syrup
6 1/4 inch slices of cucumber 2 slices cut into quarters.
6 leaves of basil
a muddler to crush the cucumber and basil ( they are a couple of dollars at the liquor store) You can make this without one

Directions:

Put cucumber and basil in a glass or cocktail shaker and used a muddler to crush well.  It will take a few minutes.  This releases the juices from the cucumber and basil to flavor the drink.  Before we had a muddler, I used a blender stick, or even a potato masher will work.

Next add ice to whatever container you used to muddle your cucumber and basil.

Add the rest of the ingredients to the container and mix well.  I let it sit for several minutes so that it gets really cold.

Pour into a martini glass and garnish with a cucumber slice.

Serves 2

This is a great recipe for a Cucumber Basil Martini.  I hope you enjoy tonight's Happy Hour.  I would love to hear what you think of this Martini.  I always love hearing from you.

Enjoy!!!
