So still no baby.  Charly's due date was changed.  she is still overdue, but not as badly as before.  We are not as worried.  We would appreciate prayers for her for a healthy delivery and a healthy baby.

Waking Up In Heaven - Book Review

Waking Up In Heaven by Crystal McVea at Barnes and Noble

Today, I am reviewing Waking Up In Heaven by Crystal McVea.  My friend Karen had suggested a few books for me to read last week and this was one of them.  Crystal McVea's autobiography is one of the most beautiful stories that I have read in a long time.  Her description of Heaven is so beautiful, and her life story is a story of how beautiful God's Grace truly is in our lives.  

Here is the editor's summary of the book:

On December 10, 2009, Crystal McVea, a thirty-two-year-old mother of four, stopped breathing. Her face turned a dark shade of blue, then black. Her mother screamed for help, and a nurse tried to revive her . . . to no avail. Today, Crystal does not remember what happened in that hospital room during the nine minutes she was unconscious and unable to breathe on her own. She has no memory of the panic and the rushing nurses and the loud cries of “Code Blue.” She simply remembers drifting off. 

And she remembers waking up in heaven. For most of Crystal’s broken life, she felt utterly beyond the reach of God— if God was even real. Then came December 10—and the nine minutes that changed everything. I have really enjoyed reading this book, and I hope you take a chance and read it also.  It's a really fast read.  I read it in just a few days, but I know Karen and her sister read it in a night.

Wednesday's Adorned From Above Link Party

Hi Everyone. 

Sorry, but there will be no party again this week.  We will get back to normal soon, but Charly is in labor, a very, very late labor, so I am concentrating on her for right now.

We could use all of your prayers.  She has been in labor since Sunday and her contractions are still 30 minutes apart.  She sees the doctor tomorrow.  Hopefully, her little girl decides to enter this world before then.

Marriage 5 - Ephesians 5:28

Charly and Ryan were married several weeks ago in our back yard and it was so beautiful.  I read this verse today and it made me think of them.  You can see how much he loves her when he looks at her.  It is a beautiful thing for a mom to see.

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 

Ephesians 5:28

Jesus loved us so much that he gave his life for us that day on the cross.  My most fervent prayer is that the men in our lives love us the way Christ loved all of us.

Purple People Eater Cocktail for Friday's Happy Hour

Today we have a Purple People Eater for Friday's Happy Hour.  I loved the name of it and thought it sounded like a fun drink.  I got the recipe from the DeKuyper Website for this Purple People Eater.  It is a really easy recipe and tastes delicious.  Here you go a great new recipe for cocktails this weekend.

Purple People Eater

Ingredients:

3 oz DeKuyper Grape Pucker Schnapps

1 oz rum

Splash lemon Lime Soda

Directions:

Put ice in a glass.

 Pour grape pucker, rum, and soda over the ice.

Stir.

Grands Jr Mac N Cheese Pies

I made these delicious Grands Jr Mac N Cheese Pies and they were delicious.  I got the recipe from Pillsbury Easy Back To School Recipes Magazine.  It is packed full of great and easy recipes.  I am such a sucker for the magazines at the check out counters at the grocery store, and this magazine has not let me down.  Everyone went nuts over them.

Grands Jr Mac N Cheese Pies

Ingredients:

1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni

1 can 12 oz Pillsbury Grands Jr Honey Butter refrigerated biscuits

3/4 cup Pace Salsa con Queso Dip

Directions:

Heat oven to 375 degrees.

In a 2 qt saucepan, cook macaroni as directed on the package.

Meanwhile, separate dough into 10 biscuits.  

Press 1 biscuits in 10 ungreased muffin cups, firmly pressing dough to cover bottom and side of muffin cups.  Form 1/4 inch over edge of the cup.

Once noodles are done cooked drain them and add the cheese dip and stir well.

Then spoon the macaroni and cheese into each of the muffin cups.

Bake for 14 to 18 minutes.  Mine only took 14 minutes.

I hope you enjoy these as much as everyone here did.  These Grands Jr Mac n Cheese Pies are delicious.

Angel Wing Crocheted Dress Pattern Newborn

I crocheted this cute little Angel Wings Crocheted Dress for Charly's baby, Mia, who has not yet arrived.  It came out so cute.  I can't wait to see her in it. 

Here is the link to the pattern for Angel Wings Pinafore from Bev's Country Cottage.  It was a very simple dress to make, I would say it is an intermediate skill level.  It is just lots of counting to keep things straight.  I would forget to count stitches and have to rip out and go back to fix it, but that's not a big deal.
