I love bubble baths.  Doesn't everyone love a bubble bath?  They are relaxing and there is still that part of us that has fun being surrounded by bubbles.   Today I made a batch of Natural Coconut Bubble Bath.  

I did lots of research and found that bubble bath is a little difficult to make if you are allergic to liquid Castile soap.  Since I'm allergic to liquid Castile soap I opted to go the route of natural unscented baby shampoo.  You can find lots of websites that have recipes; Crunchy Betty, This Time This Space, and Bali Home. 

I decided to go with products that I already had in the house.  So here it is Natural Coconut Bubble Bath.

Natural Coconut Bubble Bath

1/2 cup unscented shampoo
1 cup distilled water
1 tsp jojoba oil
1 tsp liquid glycerin
15 drops coconut fragrance oil

Directions

Mix all ingredients together.  Store in a pretty bottle.

Pour 1 tablespoon under running water.

Enjoy and relax in your bubble bath.  It made tons of bubbles.  I really loved this Bubble Bath.  You could also make it without the oil and glycerin.  I decided to add them since I live in Denver and it is so try here, I didn't want my skin to get any dryer.

Natural Orange Air Freshener

Since I am always on the lookout for natural products, I was looking for a Natural Air Freshener / Room Deodorizer.  I have read all over the internet about using baking soda and essential oil.  So I decided to go that route rather then a gel air freshener.  I did read the the other about a spray air freshener, and and I may try that next, but for today, I am going the baking soda route. 

I used a small mason jar, and cut a small square of fabric for the center of the screw on cap.  The fabric is thin enough that the scent will come through the fabric.    It is that easy.

Natural Orange Air Freshener / Room Deodorizer

Ingredients:
 
1/4 cup baking soda
30 drops sweet orange or tangerine essential oil ( you can use any scent that you want.  I made a second one with jasmine fragrance oil)
mortar and pestle
1 small mason jar 
6 inch square of thin fabric
screw lid without the center

Directions:
 
Put baking soda in mortar and add essential oil a few drops at a time working into baking soda with pestle. 
 

Put baking soda in a small mason jar, and put the piece of fabric over the top and screw the lid on. 

I decided to the jasmine scent in my living room and the orange scent in the bathroom.  It looks really pretty in there.

Love... bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

God loves us unconditionally, and when we accept his love, we are also able to love others unconditionally.  We don't say to our friends or loved ones, "You messed up, so I don't love you anymore."  No, we keep loving them, even after they make mistakes, just like God keeps loving us after we make mistakes.  

God instilled a perfect love in Jesus, and Jesus loved us perfectly.  He died on the cross to save us.  His hope for us was that we would be able to love others the same way he loves us. 

Isn't it beautiful when you read it slowly and repeat it out loud. 

            Love bears all things,  how beautiful is that, Love bears all things. 

Isn't that what we do for our loved one.  Isn't that what Jesus did for us?  He even bore the cross for us.

          Love Believes all things,  another amazing thought!!!

Don't we believe in our loved ones?  We love them and even if they do something wrong, we still believe in them.

           Love Hopes all things, I know that I do

I know that I always hope for the best for my family. I love them so much, and really want things to go well for them.  It's wonderful, when you accept God's unconditional love, it brings good things out in you.   Things like hope.

         Love endures all things, isn't that the truth

When we love others, it is enduring, forever, and infinite.  It also bears all things,  with God's love we can get through anything.  For that I am truly grateful.

Beaded Bracelet Pictorial

I made several bracelets and wanted to do a Pictorial for you.  They are easy to make and I love the way they came out.  If you have all of the supplies, they will take about 30 minutes each to make.  Not too bad to have two new, fun pieces of jewelry.

Supplies that you will need:

Beads of your choice
clear elastic for the bracelet
glue for jewelry ( I only had fabric glue that day and it worked fine)
tape measure

 

The only thing that you will need to do after you tie the elastic would be to add some glue to make sure that it does not come untied.

Matzo Ball Soup for Recipe for Retro Recipe Saturday

 Tomorrow night is the first night of Rosh Hashanah.  So in honor of the Jewish New Year, I am posting a recipe for Matzo Ball Soup.  It is a favorite in our house, and I hope that all of you like it too. 

Mazto Ball Soup

2 3/4cups Matzo meal
11 eggs beaten
3/4 cup shortening melted
3/4 cup water or broth
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 large boxes chicken broth ( I use the low sodium / fat free broth)

Direction:

Mix matzo meal in a large bowl.

Mix shortening, eggs, salt and pepper.  Next add broth.

Add to Matzo meal and mix well.  

Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat.

I always get my hands wet to work with the matzo balls.   I like my matzo balls bigger, so I use a large spoon and form a ball about 2 inches in diameter with my hands.  I also try to make as many of the matzo balls as I can first before putting them in the boiling water.

Once matzo balls are made, drop them gently in the pot and bring  them to a boil.  Then turn the heat to simmer and cook for  30 minutes with the pan covered.

In a separate pan bring chicken broth to a boil.

Once done, add the matzo balls to the chicken broth.  You can keep them hot on simmer until you are ready to serve.

Serves 8 to 10 for a meal, or 12 to 16 for a starter.

Grape Cooler for Friday's Happy Hour

I can't believe it is already Friday again.  This week has flown by.  I am so excited because today we have a great new cocktail which is as pretty as it tastes.  It's a Grape Cooler for Friday's Happy Hour.  It is the prettiest lavender color ever.  We also have my Favorite Links of the week.  So here we go, are you ready,  have a great Happy Hour and an amazing weekend.

Grape Cooler for Friday's Happy Hour

Ingredients:

4 oz grape vodka
1 1/2 oz grape pucker
5 oz sprite ( I used sugar free to help with calories )

Directions:

Mix all ingredients, pour over ice, and serve chilled.

Serves 2

This recipe was so easy and really good.  It's tastes like a grape soda but is a beautiful lavender color.  I hope all of you enjoy it.  Send me your comments.  I love hearing from you.

Ice Cream Sundae Cupcakes

Ice Cream Sundae Cupcake

As you can see, I have been busy over the last couple of days with changes to the look of Adorned From Above.  I made a mistake and accidentally changed the template the day before yesterday, and decided to bite the bullet and make lots of changes.  I am now going to need to do a post on how to use pic monkey to make a header, but that must wait for another day.

Anyway, last weekend I made these great ice great little Ice Cream Sundae Cupcakes and if I do say so myself, they were delicious.  Not only did they taste great, but they were also really cute and everyone loved them.  So here it is, the recipe for Ice Cream Sundae Cupcakes.

Ice Cream Sundae Cupcakes

Ingredients:

3 pints of ice cream (your favorite flavors, I used caramel cone crunch, chocolate, and vanilla bean)
12 oreo cookies
hot fudge sauce ( warmed up )
12 pretty cupcake liners

Directions:

Put cupcake liners in a 12 count muffin pan.

Put and oreo in the bottom of each cupcake cup.

Put ice cream on top of each oreo to about 1/2 to 1/3 of the bottom of the muffin cup.

Put 1 tablespoon hot fudge sauce on top of the ice cream.

Then put a large scoop of ice cream on top of the hot fudge sauce.  So it is mounded over the top of the muffin pan and looks like a baked cupcake.

I made 3 different flavors, but you could do as many as you want.

I put in the freezer for a few hours before I served them.

Makes 12 Ice Cream Sundae Cupcakes.

Today, I'm doing a recipe instead of a beauty product.  It was so good and simple, that I couldn't wait to share it with all of you.  If you follow me you know that I am a Reese's  Peanut Butter Cups fanatic.  So today I present you with a recipe for Reese's Brownie S'mores.  They were cooked in a 9 x 9 pan and cut into squares, but I did make them last week in a muffin pan in cupcake cups.  I just didn't get pictures.  So it is a versatile recipe, you will just need to adjust cooking times.  It is now time to present you with Reese's S'more Brownies. 

Reese's S'more Brownies

1 box fudge brownie mix ( prepare brownies according to the directions on the box )
9 Reese's Peanut Butter cups
1 jar marshmallow cream

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease a 9 x 9 inch baking pan.

Mix brownies according to the directions on the box.

Pour half of the brownie mix into the greased pan.

Place 9 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups on top of the brownie mix in 3 rows of 3.

Place 1 tablespoon of marshmallow cream on tip of each peanut butter cup.

Pour the other half of the brownie mix over the marshmallow cream and peanut butter cups.

Bake for 50 minutes and then check to see if they were done.  It may take another 5 to 10 minutes, because they are a little thicker then regular brownies.

Now on to my DIY Natural All Purpose Cleaner

So in my quest for natural cleaning product recipes I did some research for a DIY Natural All Purpose Cleaner.  I wanted it to have the cleaning capabilities of 409 or Fantastic, but be natural so that it would not bother my asthma.  I also wanted it to have anti bacterial properties.  In my research, I learned that vinegar is an anti bacterial, but I wanted something a little bit more, so I decided that whatever I made would also have either lemon or lemongrass essential oil for their anti bacterial properties.  Several of the recipes that I read had vinegar, water, and they added either borax or baking soda.  I decided that I wanted to add borax to my DIY Natural All Purpose Cleaner.   I did decide on lemongrass essential oil, since that was the first one I saw in my bag of tricks.  So everyone, here is a great recipe for.....

Debi's DIY Natural All Purpose Cleaner 

1/4 cup vinegar

2 TB borax

1/4 cup boiling water

3 1/2 cold cups water

20 drops lemongrass essential oil

1 4 cup spray bottle 

Directions:

Mix borax in 1/4 cup boiling water.  Once dissolved, pour in a 4 cup spray bottle.  Add vinegar, cold water, and lemongrass essential oil to the spray bottle and shake.   Use the same way you would 409 or Fantastik

God's love for us is unconditional.  It's always and infinite.  It is truth, and God is love!!!

What an amazing gift our Father has given us.  He loves us not matter what.  He loves us completely, flawed human beings that we are.

It's important, that we accept that he loves us, warts and all.  It's only in the acceptance of his love that you let God into your life. 

When you can accept God's love, you are then able to love other people the way God loves you.  Unconditionally!!!  Isn't that great news!!!  Whew!!! What a relief!!!  

There are so many gifts that we receive, but are also able to give, with just one little thing.  Accepting this unconditional love, and then being able to give it to others.  No matter what someone has done.  We are able to forgive them, and love them.  Amazing, but isn't that God anyway.  Truly Amazing!!!
