Low Carb Barbecue Sauce

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!!!
I hope you have a love filled day.

I love barbecue sauce, and since I'm not supposed to eat sugar, I make this delicious and super easy Low Carb Barbecue Sauce.  It is so amazing.  My family doesn't even care that it's Sugar Free and they love their Sugar.  It is delicious on chicken, pork and beef.  I make a great delicious crock pot pulled pork that I will share with you another day.
For today, enjoy this great Sugar Free Low Carb Barbecue Sauce.

Low Carb Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients:

3 16 oz sugar free ketchup
1/2 onion finely chopped
6 TB butter
3 to 4 cloves of garlic or 2 tsp bottled
6 oz Worcestershire sauce
3 TB molasses
1 cup splenda or truvia
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper

Directions:

Melt butter in a sauce and add the onion and cook until translucent.

Next add the garlic and cook for another minute.
Add the rest of the ingredients and cook  for 30 minutes.

I put this in mason jars and use as needed.  It will keep in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.

This Low Carb Barbecue Sauce is so good, and really easy to make as you can see.  I hope you like it as much as we do.  I always love hearing from you.

Enjoy!!!

Rasberry Pie Conversation Hearts Individual

I thought these little Rasberry Pie Conversation Hearts came out so cute.  I bought a individual heart pie mold and it was so easy to cut and mold these little pies.  I also wanted to make fruit pies, but I don't love store bought pie filling, so I decided to use a jar of really good Rasberry Preserves. They came out so good with the preserves, that I was a little surprised.

Conversation Heart Rasberry Pies

Ingredients:

3 sheets of Pie Crust ( I used Pillsbury pre made pie crusts and I need 3 sheet to make 5 individual pies)
10 TB fruit filling ( I used rasberry preserves, but you could use any type of jam or preserves that you like )
1 egg beaten
1 pastry brush for egg
colored sugar for decoration
colored jell icing (to write on your pies)
heart shaped mold to cut crust and crimp top and bottom of crust together.  (I got my mold at the grocery store where they have seasonal cooking and gift things.)

Directions:

Preheat you oven to 400 degrees and spray a cookie sheet with non stick cooking spray.

Lay out your pie crust and use the bottom of your mold to cut your heart shapes.  I got 4 hearts per pie crust

Lay on heart shaped crust in the pie mold.

Next put 2 TB preserves into the center of the crust.

Then brush your beaten egg around the edges of the pie crust.

Next put your second Pie Crust over the top of the bottom crust and filling.

Push the top of the mold onto the top pie crust and press down firmly.

This will crimp the 2 crusts together to make this pretty little individual heart pie.

Take the pie out of the crust and lay it on your cookie sheet.

Next brush the top of the pie with  the beaten egg and sprinkle with the colored sugar.

Repeat these directions with the rest of the pies

Bake in the oven for 18 to 22 minutes or until the crust is lightly browned.

When done, remove the pies from the oven and pan and place on a rack to cool.

Once they are completely cooled, you can use to colored jell to write on them.  I just wrote little sayings like on the Candy Conversation Hearts.

I hope you like these hearts.  They are pretty easy to make, delicious to eat, and would be really cute for breakfast or a party treat for Valentines Day.  I always love hearing from you.

Enjoy!!!

Psalm 27:10 Bible Study

When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Psalm 27:10

I thought this was beautiful.  I have not been forsaken by my Father and Mother by any means, but I found comfort today in the second part of this verse.  That if I am forsaken by anyone, the Lord will take me up.  That is so comforting.

I hope you find comfort in that also.  I always love hearing from you.

Have a Blessed Day.

Cream Filled Donuts

I loved these delicious Cream Filled Donuts, and I don't normally like this kind of a donut.   They were so delicious, I can't even believe that we made something this good, and we love making desserts.   I ate one and then immediately covered them and put them in the refrigerator so that I wouldn't eat any more.  Charly was laughing as I put them away, because I wanted to devour the whole plate.  I certainly love desserts and I must say, this one is to die for.  I took them to the office (where they of course devoured them.  I love the people at the office so much, they always eat my cooking with such glee.)  Anyway, and to top it off, they are really easy to make.  Again, another semi homemade recipe.

Cream Filled Donuts

Ingredients:

Pillsbury Honey Butter Biscuits ( I'm sorry Linda, I know they don't sell them in S.A.)

vegetable oil ( enough to fill your pan halfway)
2 cups powdered sugar

2 lbs Vanilla Whipped Icing ( I purchased this in this at the bakery of my local grocery store.  In Denver, King Soopers)

valentine cupcake decorations

Directions:

Heat your oil in a frying pan to 250 degrees.

I put 4 biscuits into the hot oil at a time.  Cook the biscuits about 2 to 3 minutes per side.  Turning as needed, until a medium brown color.  I kept a very close eye on them, because they can go from beautiful to burned very quickly.

Once done, take them out of the oil and drain on paper towels, and cook the next four biscuits.

While the second four biscuits are draining, put the powdered sugar in a large bowl and start tossing your donuts in the powdered sugar until well coated.  Then coat the next four donuts in powdered sugar.

Next use a sharp knife and put three slits into the bottom of each donut.

Then pipe the filling into the donuts.  You will feel them fill as you put the filling in each hole.  You may need to put them in the powdered sugar once more to get rid of any fingerprints.

You are done.  Put a beautiful toothpick in the top of each donut and serve.

Makes 8 donuts

There are 7 people in the office and the donuts were gone in about 3 minutes.  We hope you like this recipe.  We always love hearing from you.

Enjoy!!!
