Broiled Brown Sugar Grapefruit

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.  I hope that you have a wonderful day with your family and friends.  Because today is a day for family, I decided to make an old recipe Broiled Brown Sugar Grapefruit.  I hope you enjoy it.

My mom used to make Broiled Brown Sugar Grapefruit for breakfast when we were kids.  You know how some foods are just comforting when you think about, see, and smell the.  This is one of those for me.  My mom is visiting and I made this yesterday, and it was a good as I remembered.

This is an easy simple breakfast, and it looks lovely.

Broiled Brown Sugar Grapefruit

Ingredients:

1 grapefruit (cut in half)
2 TB brown sugar

Directions:

Turn oven onto to broil.

Line a pan with foil.

Cut grapefruit sections.

Sprinkle 1 tablespoon on each half of the grapefruit.

Put under broiler for 2 minutes.

Pull out of oven and serve

Makes 2 servings.

I hope that you like this recipe.  It is an old favorite, kind of like an old blanket that you put around yourself to feel comfy.

I always love hearing from you.

Happy Thanksgiving.
Debi

  2. Oh my gosh! Last year My hubby took me to a cozy lakeside Bead and Breakfast for my birthday. This was part of the amazing breakfast they served - I've been wondering how she did it! Does it work with oranges?

    1. Hi Kayla,
You can broil it or bake it at 350 for 10 minutes. Yes I think you can use oranges also. I have never tried that, but I don't see why not. It sounds good to me. Thanks for visiting.

  4. So glad I found this. I love grapefruit. My dad grew up in Florida eating lots of grapefruit so we had a lot of it around as I grew up in Oklahoma, but I've never heard of broiling it.
Sounds wonderful! I will absolutely try this soon!
