Cream Filled Donuts

I loved these delicious Cream Filled Donuts, and I don't normally like this kind of a donut.   They were so delicious, I can't even believe that we made something this good, and we love making desserts.   I ate one and then immediately covered them and put them in the refrigerator so that I wouldn't eat any more.  Charly was laughing as I put them away, because I wanted to devour the whole plate.  I certainly love desserts and I must say, this one is to die for.  I took them to the office (where they of course devoured them.  I love the people at the office so much, they always eat my cooking with such glee.)  Anyway, and to top it off, they are really easy to make.  Again, another semi homemade recipe.

Cream Filled Donuts

Ingredients:

Pillsbury Honey Butter Biscuits ( I'm sorry Linda, I know they don't sell them in S.A.)

vegetable oil ( enough to fill your pan halfway)
2 cups powdered sugar

2 lbs Vanilla Whipped Icing ( I purchased this in this at the bakery of my local grocery store.  In Denver, King Soopers)

valentine cupcake decorations

Directions:

Heat your oil in a frying pan to 250 degrees.

I put 4 biscuits into the hot oil at a time.  Cook the biscuits about 2 to 3 minutes per side.  Turning as needed, until a medium brown color.  I kept a very close eye on them, because they can go from beautiful to burned very quickly.

Once done, take them out of the oil and drain on paper towels, and cook the next four biscuits.

While the second four biscuits are draining, put the powdered sugar in a large bowl and start tossing your donuts in the powdered sugar until well coated.  Then coat the next four donuts in powdered sugar.

Next use a sharp knife and put three slits into the bottom of each donut.

Then pipe the filling into the donuts.  You will feel them fill as you put the filling in each hole.  You may need to put them in the powdered sugar once more to get rid of any fingerprints.

You are done.  Put a beautiful toothpick in the top of each donut and serve.

Makes 8 donuts

There are 7 people in the office and the donuts were gone in about 3 minutes.  We hope you like this recipe.  We always love hearing from you.

Enjoy!!!
