Jerusalem Countdown - Movie Review

Jerusalem Countdown Movie available from Amazon

Welcome to my first Blast From The Past Saturday.  Every Saturday I will be posting a previously published post, in order to take my weekends off.  Today, I will be sharing my very first post, a movie review from the movie Jerusalem Countdown.  When I look at this blog post, I find that I had a lot to learn about blogging.

I wanted to tell everyone about a new dvd that I just watched.  It is called Jersalem Countdown, and it was great.  It was just released on dvd last week and it is from a company called PureFlix.  They brought us movies like Hidden Secrets, The Encounter, and The Wager.  It is really well done, and has a wonderful cast of characters.  (David AR White, Randy Travis, Lee Majors,  Stacy Keech to name a few)

The movie is based on the John Hagee book and it is a fast paced pre apocolyptic movie.  It seems that each year Christian based movies are getting better and better, and it is one that I would definitely recommend.  I hope you get a chance to see the DVD.  It is probably okay for teenagers and adults, but not young children.

Have a great week.

Beck + Warby Parker New Frame

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links

Breaking news! Warby Parker has once again joined forces with the talented Beck and has created a limited-edition pair of frames to bring Beck's Song Reader to life with an album of interpretations by a dream team of musicians hand-selected by Beck and the legendary music producer, Randall Poster. But you don't have to be a music lover to appreciate these Carmichael frames - re-incarnated in Black Cherry - a two toned hue created with the help of Beck himself!

These limited edition frames are available for both sun and optical eye wear. To check them out or to learn more about the Warby Parker and Beck collaboration go towww.warbyparker.com/song-reader.

This is such a great company.  They make the cutest frames and include the lenses for a very reasonable price.   Since I have to wear glasses and my prescription is very strong ( basically I'm legally blind without glasses )  these are a steal.  Most frames are priced at about $100.00, amazing for cute frames.  This is a company that I really believe in and I hope you will take a look at what they have to offer.  My next pair of glasses is going to come from Warby Parker.

Pineapple Lemonade for Friday's Happy Hour

Tonight we are having Pineapple lemonade for Friday's Happy Hour.  This is a great, refreshing summer cocktail, and I think you're really going to like it.  I added the fresh berries, because they looked so pretty in the drink.  This would also be a great drink for Sunday brunch.  It would look so pretty on the  table with a daisy centerpiece, yellow tablecloth or placemats, and a beautiful Italian Fritatta.  I think I'm getting ready for Sunday Brunch now.

Marriage Proposal Books by Blurb

I think this is such a great idea.  This is so different.  I don't know how many men I have reading this, but all of you women out there, you can put the idea out there for him.  Men, if your reading this, a proposal book would be a huge surprise, and something she would remember forever.

Why Not Pop the Question in Print?
(sponsored post)

Some proposals happen on a mountain top. Some happen while she's brushing her teeth. Whether you prefer the extravagant or the subtle, you are going to want to commemorate this milestone of life. That's why the idea of publishing a proposal into a printed Blurb book is so appealing. Here are a few ideas of how to craft the most creative "Will You Marry Me?" chronicle.
  • Write a children's book where the main characters are you and your beloved. Print the book with Blurb, then have it put onto the shelves at your local library. Take her on a reading date and "stumble" across the book. (Just remind her that you're in the library and she'll have to tone down those shrieks of joy.)
  • Create a beautiful photo essay of your relationship. Include photos of where you met, special pieces from your first date, scenes from your favorite events. Use the pictures to tell a silent story of your love and then complete this happy ending with a picture of you and a sign asking for her hand.
  • Is your beloved a foodie? Make her a Blurb cookbook of love! Ask your family and friends for their favorite recipes and put them together into one book, complete with pictures. Add in your own recipe of love with ingredients that include moments from your courtship. Just be sure that when the relationship is fully baked, you ask about the final course - a lifetime of sweet memories.
Blurb loves helping people to publish their dreams and right now they are offering two special deals to get your proposal in print. Save 15% on all purchases by using promo code: AUGUST15at checkout. Save 25% on print book orders of $75+ on 1st purchase only, when you use promo code: TRYOUT at checkout. Both of these offers expire on August 25th, so don't wait to publish the most important question ever put into print, with Blurb

Take advantage of this offer now.
Have a great week.

Cinnamon Sugar Palmiers

My mouth is watering just thinking about these Cinnamon Sugar Palmiers.  They are one of my favorite cookies.  I love puff pastry.  I don't think there is anything that I would not eat if it included puff pastry, except maybe liver.  Liver is one of my least favorite foods.  Anyway, back to puff pastry.  These cookies are really simple to make, and you probably have almost everything on hand, except for maybe the puff pastry.  I guess that isn't a staple in most peoples' homes.  They only have four ingredients in them; puff pastry, cinnamon, sugar, and the magic ingredient, butter.

Here is a very quick and easy cookie recipe.

Cinnamon Sugar Palmiers

Ingredients:

1 sheet puff pastry
1/4 cup butter softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Direction:

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

Line a cookie sheet with non stick foil or parchment paper.

Unroll your puff pastry.

Spread the softened butter over the puff pastry.

Mix you sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the butter on you puff pastry.

Roll the puff pastry up from the long end and pinch the ends to the roll to seal the sugar into the dough.  You do not need to pinch the ends that look like spirals.

Slice the dough into 12 slices and lay on you cookie sheet in four rows of three.

Some of the cinnamon sugar mixture will come out, but that is ok.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until lightly browned.

Let cook and serve.

I hope that you like the recipe.  I always love hearing from you.

What are you favorite kinds of cookies?

Have a great week.

Adorned From Above Link Party 91

I want to thank everyone who shared with Wednesday's Adorned From Above Link Party 90.  We love seeing all of your posts.

Welcome to Wednesday's Adorned From Above Blog Hop 91.

I Want to thank all of you for coming back to this weeks party.

The last two months have been a challenge to say the least.  We had a wonderful time at Danny's wedding and went on vacation, and while we were gone my dad got very ill.  He passed away a week ago.  I have been back and forth to California 3 times in the last 3 weeks.  I had wanted to spend as much time as I could with him before he passed away.  All of us spent his birthday on July 7th with him in the hospital.  The smile on his face is what I will remember forever.  This is a picture that the kids took.  Danny is absent, he visited the week before.

Here are the featured bloggers from Link Party 90.  I promise to try to continue the party and blogging.  We are dealing with huge changes in our lives right now, so Adorned From Above may have to change a little also.  My sweet hubby is starting to retire, and we will be moving to the Florida House sometime in the next 6 months.  As things get more hectic with the move and all of the changes I may have to take some time off again, but right now we are going to try to keep things going smoothly.

Borough Market in London - Photography

Today I'm sharing pictures from Borough Market in London.  It is a beautiful farmer's market right near London Bridge, and we were fortunate enough to be in London on a Saturday, when the market is held.

The pictures below are pretty self explanatory.  I love taking pictures of food.  Now, are you ready for our walk through the Borough Market.  Here we go.

This is the banner that you see when you walk into Borough Market.  You are inundated with all of the colors, smells, and noises in the market, which are all just past this sign.

The food stalls are all along the back of the market, and some are in the center.  There are so many people there.  Our cousin Emmanuel who lives in London says it has gotten much busier then it used to be.

The Sangria lady has some tables set up as you walk in from another entrance.  It all looked so pretty.

The vegetables looked amazing.  Farmers come from all around London to sell their produce.

The fudge looked and tasted amazing.  I was good, and didn't buy any.  I was trying very hard not to gain weight on this vacation.  Which is really hard to do on a cruise.  I made sure I walked my 10,000 steps everyday and I didn't gain a pound.  I am so proud of myself.

These vinegars were amazing.  Sweet and tart at the same time.  Yum!!!  They had little pieces of bread to try it with.

The breads looked so beautiful.  I wanted to buy some really badly, but sadly I restrained myself.

Oh my and the pastries, this is where I fall off of the wagon.  Doesn't that red velvet cake look beautiful.

The local fishmonger was happy to have his picture taken and show off his fresh fish.  It all looked beautiful.  If I had had a kitchen I would have been buying some lobsters to make for dinner.  That would have been a special treat, but alas, no kitchen.  We don't get beautiful fish like that in Colorado.  Oh Well.

I hoped you liked our walking tour of Borough Market today.

I always love hearing from you.  let me know what you think of our trip through Borough Market.
Have a great day.

Revelation 14:13 Bible Study

This is a picture that I took in the Faroe Islands.  It's so beautiful and peaceful.  It looks like a painting.  I thought it was fitting for today.

I haven't posted for a while, because while we were gone my father was diagnosed with lung cancer and has several strokes.  I was fortunate enough to get to be with him twice before he passed away, and David and the kids were all there also.  We thought that he had several weeks to a few months.

Unfortunately, last week he made his final journey home to our Father in heaven.  Now he can rest.

Have a blessed week.
